Nuevo Progreso

My hostess in Texas, Alice, took me to the small Mexican town of Nuevo Progreso the afternoon after my lecture. We parked her car near the border and then walked over the bridge over the Rio Grande River to the town. This plaque is half way along the bridge and marks the international boundary between the United States and Mexico

And this sculpture is at the entrance to the town.
The town was bustling with colourful stalls and vendors.  We enjoyed a Mexican lunch and browsed the shops - a fun afternoon.
