Classes this Month - Calico Cupboard

The fun continues this month in the classroom at Calico Cupboard in Victoria. From handwork to patchwork to art quilts, you'll find a class that is 'just right' for YOU.

Join Peggy for these classes:

Hand Quilting on Sunday, October 6 (1-3 pm). Peggy shares lots of education about needles, thread, thimbles, marking, batting, hoops....wow!  And she will teach you the traditional rocking method for hand quilting in this class.

Folded Kimono on Thursday, October 10 (1-3 pm) for . You will learn to make two sizes of these intriguing and special ornaments.

Beginner Machine Quilting, Wednesday, October 16 (10 am - 12:30 pm). If you missed this class the first time, be sure to sign up. This is THE class you need to learn how to use the walking foot for your machine to quilt your quilts.  It is also a pre-requisite for any other machine quilting techniques you want to learn.

Ending It All - Bindings is on Thursday, October 17 (12:30 - 4 pm). How do I bind my quilt? That's question I am most often asked!  Here is your chance to learn from the expert. You will make sample to take home for reference.

English Paper Piecing is a great way to learn an age old method. This class is on Sunday, October 20 (1-3 pm).

I am concentrating on preparations for teaching at International Quilt Festival in Houston at the end of October. My Beginner Quilting class continues this month. If you missed this class, let me know and I'll schedule it again this session. I will be back with some new classes in November.

I will be the 'hostess' for our Friday Free Sew evening on October 18th.  This is a 'drop in' session, 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Remember, you MUST register for this session ahead of time.

Peggy and I will be in Houston at the end of the month but Susan Teece will be at Calico teaching while we are away. Her Local Landscape with Trees workshop is a perennial favourite!  This is a 2-session class on Wednesdays, October 23 and 30 (6 - 9 pm). Susan has lots of samples and ideas to make your own art quilt in these sessions.

You will find the complete class brochure here.  Sign up by phoning the store or drop by in person and collect your supply list at the same time.
