Attic Windows - Online Design Class

My Attic Windows class starts on June 10 and I would love to have you join me in the classroom at Quilt University.

You probably have some wonderful fabrics that would be great for 'windowing' - these are those fabrics you buy because you love them and then when you get them home you wonder what to do with them. Scene prints that evoke memories of a trip to the beach or cottage; a wonderful garden (with NO weeds); perhaps some photographs you have taken that you want to include in a quilt.

You will learn to design an attic windows quilt to suit your particular fabric. Ideas to test design options will be presented and practiced. We all have different fabrics and often 'one size' DOESN'T 'fit all'. Designing for YOUR fabric will make your project unique to YOU.

You will explore a variety of designs using graph paper and pattern drafting techniques. You will be able to create several designs and have the plans for several quilts.

One of the key features of Attic Windows designs is the choice of supporting fabrics for the sashes and frames around your focus fabric. It is important that these enhance your design and you will learn about fabric value as you select the best combinations for your quilt.

My fool-proof method for making mitred corners will have you sewing your quilt perfectly in no time. This is knowledge that you will use over and over again.

Hope to see you in the classroom!
