Flowers on Friday

I am staying with tropical flowers for February.

It has been fun looking back at the photos I took while on my Caribbean Quilting Cruise in 2010.  The flowers are so different from what I see in my garden and the foliage is just spectacular. The contrasting values in the leaves would be fairly easy to interpret in fabric.  I'm getting design ideas for a new quilt project!

Know the name of this one?  Leave me a comment please!

The name of this plant is Ixora Coccinea.
It comes in several colours. It's the national flower of Surinam where it goes by the name of Faja Lobi.
Different names are giving locally, one of them is Scarlet jungle flame.
Greetings from St. Maarten in the Netherlands Antilles. C

Thanks so much for the info about this plant. The name (Scarlet Jungle Flame) fits perfectly. Would love to come back to the Caribbean. I had a wonderful time on my quilting cruise.
