The routine of 'back to school' is settling in. Even though I don't have school-age children any more I find September is the real start of my year. We have been flooded with all the 'back to school' commercials so I'm sure education and learning are in your mind too. Classes are starting at Calico Cupboard in Victoria this month.
You will find the complete class brochure here. Sign up by phoning the store or drop by in person and collect your supply list at the same time.
Here is my lineup for this month:
Beginner Quilting - Easy Rails
This class is designed for the beginner who wants to learn all about quilting basics. You will master rotary cutting, accurate seams, basic construction techniques, machine quilting and binding as you make a baby-size quilt.
Class is offered on Wednesdays (Sept. 18, 25, Oct. 2 & 9) from 10 am - 12:30 pm.
Also offered on Thursday evenings (Sept. 26, Oct. 3, 10 & 4) from 6:30 pm - 9 pm.
Free Motion Quilting - Part 1 Stippling
Another class designed for beginners, you will learn all about creating 'puzzle piece' quilting in this class. Also included is information about thread choices and needles and I have included plenty of time to practice your new skills.
Saturday, September 21, 10 am - 12:30 pm
Machine Quilting with Decorative Stitches
Do you use your machine's built-in stitches? Now is the time to get out your manual and learn all about a new way to use them - for machine quilting! There are many variations and options. You will build a set of samples in this class - a great reference for future projects.
Saturday, September 21, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Friday Free Sew
This is something new that we are trying this session - a drop-in session one Friday each month. You will have uninterrupted sewing/quilting time, space to work and helpful advice if you need it.
First session is Friday, September 27, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
You must pre-register for these sessions.
