Last week I was on vacation in Osoyoos, BC - an amazing desert landscape and one of the most fertile valleys in Canada. My husband and I celebrated Canada Day by taking part in some of the festivities during the 64th annual Cherry Fiesta including..............
Pancake Breakfast - we have done this at home in Sidney every Canada Day and wanted to support the Osoyoos Lions Club.

Pancakes, bacon and syrup - yummy way to start the day! |
the
Cherry Fiesta Parade

Ready and waiting for the parade - flags courtesy of the local Cadets. |
|
Local firefighters dressed 'in drag' and carrying WATER PACKS - a fun water fight between rival firefighters starts the festivities - one block is set aside as the 'water zone' in case you don't want to get wet! |
and a spectacular end to the day with the
second largest fireworks display in Canada! We watched from the rooftop of the Spirit Ridge Resort.
