Tentmakers of Cairo

Earlier today I showed this applique art piece at Show and Share at the Victoria Quilters' Guild meeting. I purchased this piece when I was on a teaching trip to the American Quilter's Society (AQS) Show in Des Moines, Iowa, in early October.

 

It was part of the special exhibit of art pieces from the Tentmakers of Cairo, curated by Jenny Bowker.  I was very fortunate to be able to see this marvelous exhibit and to be able to purchase one of these works of art.

AQS announced today the Tentmakers of Cairo, Jenny Bowker as curator, and the American Quilter’s Society signed agreements designating the American Quilter’s Society as the exclusive representative of the Tentmakers of Cairo for the exhibition and sales of their applique art in the United States. So, you have an opportunity to see this work at upcoming AQS shows in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Paducah, Kentucky in 2013.
