Quilts Accepted for Houston

I'm thrilled that 2 of my pieces have been accepted for the International Quilt Association World of Beauty show in Houston this fall.

First is Looking West, based on a photograph taken when my husband and I spent our 30th anniversary at Point No Point Resort, on the far West Coast of Vancouver Island. The sun was setting just behind the trees just below our cottage.

Second is Three Wee Figs, a design sketch that has been on my design wall for too many years to count!  This past season I lead students in their fibre art discoveries and the 'fig' fabrics are ones that I painted or overpainted during one of the sessions.

I'll be in Houston to see my pieces hanging in the show. And I will be teaching all through Quilt Festival. The Complete Class Catalog and Online Enrollment are now available!  Hope to meet some of you there.

Thanks Barb - I'm so excited about coming to Nova Scotia! Have been firming up plans for our tour of Cape Breton following the retreat.

You must be sure and visit Anne Morrell Robinson's studio in Big Intervale http://www.kingrossqilts.com
Anne will be at the Retreat too.

Visiting Anne's studio is on my list of To Do's. I'm being joined in Cape Breton by friends from Virginia and Jill & I will be looking for anything fibre! I saw that KingrossQuilts has an AD in the wonderful tour book that Tourism NS sent me. Thanks to whoever arranged that. The pages are getting dog-eared and we've selected places to stay. Excitement BUILDS!

What an inspiration you are to Canadian quilters!

That's the one I showed at the end of all my lectures when I was on my Ontario tour Jackie. How fun that all the quilters there got to see it up close and personal first.
