Association of Pacific West Quilters - Summer Symposium 2010

Join me and an outstanding roster of instructors this summer for the APWQ Summer Symposium. The event will be held at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, August 12 - 15, 2010. You will be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest - inspiring for all quilters and fibre artists!

Registration for APWQ Members is underway.
Open Registration starts March 15th. Why not join APWQ and sign up today.
I will be teaching 2 one-day workshops and 1 half-day workshop.

Too Easy Stained Glass
It's just easy and FUN! Discover a fresh approach to quiltmaking inspired by the style and grace of stained glass windows. You will learn my “no bias, no glue” method as you make a small wallhanging with a scenic fabric and fusible web. This terrific technique makes stained glass almost too easy to be real! Fast, fun and plenty of possibilities.

Photos to Fabric
Explore ways to get your digital pictures out of the camera and onto fabric! Learn how to incorporate images into quilts and other fibre art pieces and how to make images that are soft, colourful, washable and lightfast. Techniques covered in this workshop include direct printing and a variety of image transfer methods. Students will have the opportunity to begin work on a small collage piece that features several images.

Little Landscape Quilts
Learn about design principles through drawing and fabric exercises and then create a mini landscape quilt. These small works of art are fused to a foundation, stitched with simple accent stitching and are fun and quick to make. Yes, you can be a landscape artist!

Awesome projects -- unfortunately I am relocating during the next several months and won't be able to make any commitments...so sad.
