Quilt Market - Portland

Susan and I and our daughters, Bronwen and Lindsay, travelled to International Quilt Market in Portland last week. It was great to have the girls with us. They could give us a young person's view of the quilting industry!

We spent a day shopping in Portland - great 'finds' at Powell's bookstore and Nordstrom Rack!

Then it was time for Booth Setup - we could only hang a few quilts since we needed to show most of them at 'Schoolhouse' - that's mini-lectures where shop owners and teachers could see our Fat Quarter Frenzy Two quilts 'up close' and hear all about our new Give & Take Applique patterns.

After Schoolhouse, we finished setting up the booth - we sure had a lot to show this time.

We managed to tour most of the show since the girls managed the booth - we even posed for a photo at the Quiltsource Canada booth - it's been a long time since I've been on skiis! And I'm SURE Susan has never been on a snowboard! It was great to visit with Angie and Dwight and hear about their upcoming plans.

Now it's time to process all those orders for patterns and work on ideas for the Fall!

Oregon - late April

Time to get caught up with some travel notes. Alan and I went to the Oregon Coast in late April (a substitute for the Alberta trip). We'd planned to golf but the weather didn't cooperate. Here's the where we stayed (Little Creek Cove) and the SNOW on the ground!

So we toured around instead and visited the Yaquina Head lighthouse,

Cape Foulweather,

watched the surf and the birds,

spoke to the 'wire people',

and toured the Wooden Boat Show in Depoe Bay.

We also made time for a walk on the beach.
